The collection of carpets donated by Gholam Ali Maloul

The exhibition of the collection of exquisite carpets donated by Gholam Ali Maloul includes 13 pieces of precious Iranian carpets, which were dedicated to the collection of Negarestan Garden Museum and University of Tehran by Engineer Gholam Ali Melool, a graduate of the University of Tehran and the collector, in a meeting attended by Dr. Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, President of the University of Tehran. These exquisite carpets woven in cities such as Kashan, Arak, Isfahan and Kerman date back to the Qajar period (1901) to the contemporary period (1664). This exhibition was opened on March 4, 2019 in the presence of Vaqef, the president of Tehran University, the cultural and social vice president of Tehran University, officials and a group of art lovers.

Biography

Gholam Ali Maloul was born in 1947 in a poor neighborhood in Arak. He completed primary school in a school called Farzin. Although he was studying less, but due to his high intelligence, he was able to finish this grade with excellent scores as an excellent student. He studied mathematics in high school. Technical Faculty and Physics Faculty of Science Faculty of Tehran University was his final destination and he was accepted in both faculties. It was in this way that in 1965 he became a student of road and construction at Tehran University's technical faculty and after 5 years of studying in this faculty, he graduated with a master's degree. After working for a long time, he retired in economic fields in 2003 in order to have more opportunity to work in cultural fields and his personal interests.

Interests and literary works

Interest in art, literature, handicrafts and ancient works and traveling to different countries are among his interests. The authoring of the book "Baharestan, a window to Iran's carpet", collecting a collection of exquisite carpets over forty years, collecting the silver etching collection of Isfahan over thirty-five years, visiting important ancient works in the world and famous museums of the world are some of his other activities.
