Expert Meeting on “Analysis of Handmade Persian Pictorial Carpets, with a View to the Pictorial Carpets of the Negarestan Museum Garden” Held in the Negarestan Mus
According to the Public Relations and Media Affairs of Tehran University’s Cultural Spaces and Museums Department, on the occasion of International Museum Day and Cultural Heritage Week, an expert meeting on “Analysis of Handmade Persian Pictorial Carpets” held in the Negarestan Museum Garden on Wednesday 17 May 2023.
The meeting took place in the presence of: Dr. Naser Gholami(Managing Director of the Supporter Foundation of the University of Tehran), Mohamadreza Taghidokht(Public Relations Manager & International Affairs of the University of Tehran’s College of Engineering), Turaj Zhuleh (Head of the of Iranian Academy of Arts’ Carpet Committee), Dr. Fathali Ghashghayifar( Faculty Member of the Kashan University), Mr. Keramatllah Nayyer(Donner of the Historical Lock and Key Collection), Amir Hossein Safdarzadeh Haghighi(Donner of the Carpet of " Greeting Queue"), Seyed Alireza Kia( Manager of the National Art Museum), Mohammadreza Akhzariyan Kashani (General Manager of the Social and Cultural Affairs of Tehran University), Majid Montazer Zohuri( Head of the Cultural Spaces and Museums Department of Tehran University) and the other people who were interested in this artistic field.
By commemorating International Museum Day, the General Manager of the Social and cultural affairs of Tehran University appreciated the effort of people who had contributed to holding the meeting. He said: “The Negarestan complex which is managed by Tehran University is considered one of the biggest University Museums Garden in the world.” He added: “By launching the English language website of the Negarestan Museum Garden, we hope to make this intangible heritage of Tehran University globalized through social media and the international scenes.”
Mohammadreza Akhzariyan Kashani stated: “We try to improve and prosper the Negarestan Museum Garden complex through the efforts of all its staff and the moral backing of the Negarestan Museum’s supporters.”
Majid Montazer Zohuri Also commemorated International Museum Day and said: “Iran has rich cultural values and Iranians are pioneers in the cultural fields.” The Head of the Cultural Spaces and Museums Department of Tehran University added: “Mr. Keramatllah Nayyer’s precious historical lock and key endowment collection will be opened as soon as the preparation processes of its location end.”
Zohuri also informed audiences that a precious carpet of “Greeting Queue” (Safe-e Salam) was donated by Amir Hossein Safdarzadeh Haghighi to the Negarestan Museum Garden.
Naser Gholami and Dr. Taghidokht also appreciated these kinds of freewill donation acts and praised the endowment of these precious artworks to Tehran University.
In this meeting, Turaj Zhuleh and Dr. Fathali Ghashghayifar respectively made lectures on “Iranian Pictorial Carpets” and “Iranian Carpet, Manifestation of the Glory of Celebrities and Myths”
At the end of the meeting, the donation letter of Mr. Keramatllah Nayyer’s historical lock and key collection to the Negarestan Museum Garden was signed by the donor and the managers present at the meeting. Also, the carpet of the “Greeting Queue” (Safe-e Salam) donated by Amir Hossein Safdarzadeh Haghighi was unveiled.
